Visit two distinctly different islands on this seven-night acquaintance of French Polynesia. You’ll start your journey with a breezy ferry ride to the carefree, relaxed island of Moorea where it is believed that the mythical “Bali Hai” of James Michener’s Tales of the South Pacific was inspired from. Both beautiful and savage, Moorea’s terrain is a combination of jagged mountains, green foothills, colorful houses, pineapple plantations and white sandy beaches, all surrounded by the blue lagoon and protective coral reef. You’ll settle into the slower pace of life before you know it!
Next, you will travel to Rangiroa, a pancake-flat atoll in the Tuamotu island group, approximately one hour by air. As you approach the tiny airstrip, you’ll marvel at the vastness of the Rangiroa lagoon separated from the deep blue of the Pacific Ocean by a thin strip of land. You’ll spend the next four nights at the Kia Ora Rangiroa, which is located on a sprawling palm tree plantation and will offer many opportunities to explore this sleepy island or go scuba diving or snorkeling to explore the lagoon which is teeming with marine life.

Day 1: Depart Los Angeles
Make your way to Los Angeles International Airport for your overnight flight to Papeete. Add-on fares available from other US cities, please ask for details.
Day 2-4: Papeete-Moorea
Arrive in Papeete where you’ll be greeted and transferred to the ferry terminal in central Papeete for the short ride across the channel to Tahiti’s sister island, Moorea. On arrival, you’ll be transferred directly to the Sofitel Kia Ora Moorea Beach Resort where you’ll enjoy three nights in a Superior Overwater Bungalow, including breakfast and dinner. Included is a 4×4 safari exploration of Moorea which will give you the perfect introduction to the island.
Day 5-8: Moorea-Rangiroa
Transfer to the Moorea airport for the one hour flight to Rangiroa. On arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to the beautiful Kia Ora Rangiroa Resort, a 4-star resort located directly on the vast Rangiroa lagoon, where you’ll enjoy four nights in your beautifully appointed Villa with Pool, including breakfast and dinner.
Day 9: Bora Bora – Papeete
All too soon, it will be time to transfer back to the airport and on to Papeete for your onward journey to Los Angeles, arriving Day 10.
