Southern Highlands

The Southern Highlands is a foodie’s paradise, with rich volcanic soils supporting a range of produce. Local specialties include Angus beef, Toulouse geese, Wessex saddleback pigs, yabbies, cheeses, olives, olive oil, truffles, berries, cherries and pome fruits. The high altitude is perfect for cool-climate wines, with plenty of cellar doors to visit. There are acclaimed restaurants too, such as Eschalot. Rolling hills and unspoilt bushland are a fitting backdrop to explore the region’s charming country towns and villages only 90 minutes from Sydney.

NSW South Coast

South of Sydney you’ll discover uncrowded beaches, marine and national parks and the famous Kiama blowhole, which spouts seawater 20 meters into the air.

Jervis Bay boasts powder-white sands and turquoise blue waters. A popular location for dolphin spotting. Travel further South and sample the local flavors at Cupitt’s Estate – a boutique winery, brewery, fromagerie and take in the extraordinary views over the vineyard to Burrill Lake and the Budawang Ranges.

The rugged coastline of the South Coast offers adventures such as swimming with seals and deep-sea fishing, as well as coastal walks and surfing. Watch whales migrate along the coastline and sample seafood along the oyster trail.

Orange & Mudgee

Indulge your senses in the epicurean delights of country NSW.

Orange is the state’s largest high-altitude, cool climate wine region. Along with the rich volcanic soil from nearby Mount Canobolas, Orange has the perfect conditions to produce cool climate wines, including award-winning chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, shiraz and pinot noir and sparkling wine. You’ll also find incredible regional produce, from apples, pears and exotic fruits to cheese, meat and craft beer.

Also an easy three-and-a-half hour drive northwest of Sydney through the Blue Mountains, the Mudgee wine region is a favorite among nature and food and wine lovers for its beauty, heritage and world-class produce. Mudgee is situated on the Cudgegong River and is surrounded by rolling green hills. The region has a rich gold rush heritage and World Heritage wilderness including Wollemi National.
