Visit three distinctly different islands on this six-night introduction to The Islands of Tahiti. After a brief stay on the main island of Tahiti with the bustling city center of Papeete, you’ll travel to enchanted Huahine where the untamed landscape, tiny villages and slower pace of life will leave you relaxed and with a sense of serenity. The island of Huane is two islands connected by a thin isthmus. Take a circle island tour to explore a local Tahitian vanilla farm, learn about Polynesian culture and how the locals live on this tranquil island that reminds us of days of old French Polynesia.
Next, you will travel to Bora Bora, a short flight from Huahine. As you approach the tiny airstrip, you’ll see why many call Bora Bora one of the most beautiful islands in the world. The lagoon sparkles, glittering in many shades of blue and surrounds Mt. Otemanu at the center of the main island. The resorts below stretch far out into the lagoon, waiting for your arrival. During your stay, you may want to dine at the famous Bloody Mary’s, shop for Tahitian cultured pearls, dine in the local pizzeria just down the road from your hotel or take a half-day lagoon tour to get to know the island better. No matter what you choose to do, Bora Bora will capture your heart and leave you wanting more.

Day 1: Depart Los Angeles
Make your way to Los Angeles International Airport for your overnight flight to Papeete. Add-on fares available from other US cities, please ask for details.
Day 2: Papeete
Arrive in Papeete where you’ll be greeted and transferred to the InterContinental Resort Tahiti for your one-night stay. Tahiti is rich in culture with a variety of activities to choose from in Papeete and in the nearby deep valleys into the interior of the island. Be sure to take in the hotel’s scenic views of Moorea in the distance at sunset! For those who wish to immerse themselves into local life, head downtown to the waterfront plaza for dinner at the Roulottes (food trucks) where you can choose from any number of culinary delights (Steak Frites, smoothies, chow mein, seared ahi, French crepes, etc) and eat amongst the local families.
Day 3-4: Papeete – Huahine
Transfer back to the airport to board your 40-minute flight to Huahine. Some call Huahine the Garden Island because of the lush, green hillsides and valleys. It is relatively untouched and still has a feel of French Polynesia from decades ago. The island itself is split into two sections and connected by an isthmus. Many visitors return to Huahine year after year as it gives them the rare opportunity to detach, to unplug for a few days. Slip into the island’s easygoing, slower pace of life for two nights.
Day 5-6: Huahine – Bora Bora
Fully relaxed, board your short flight from Huahine to Bora Bora. The islands are near one another, so this flight almost acts as a flightseeing tour! One of nine islands in the Society Islands, Bora Bora was formed by a volcano millions of years ago and is surrounded by a thin, protective coral reef around the outer edge. This stunning, romantic, magical gem of an island is anchored in the middle by the green cliffs of Mt. Otemanu and has a string of secluded beaches and motu (small islets) scattered around it. After landing on the airport’s own motu, you’ll be met and transferred by boat to the Maitai Bora Bora at the southern tip of the main island. This resort is perfectly situated at the base of Mt. Otemanu on white sand beaches and near several popular restaurants and sites for exploration. Enjoy kayaking, snorkeling, or visit the nearby Matira Beach, often named one of the world’s best beaches. Be sure to take an optional tour of the lagoon which will often give you the chance to swim with the stingrays and sharks or take an ATV tour of the main island for deeper exploration of its valleys and see how the locals live.
Day 7: Bora Bora – Papeete
All too soon, it will be time to transfer back to the airport and on to Papeete for your onward journey to Los Angeles.
